The 2024 Kia EV6's base Light trim has a single electric motor that maxes out at 167 horsepower, but if you go with the dual-motor Wind trim, you'll be treated to 225 horsepower. However, the top-tier GT trim can churn out up to 576 horsepower. The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 falls short of that. While its base SE trim generates up to 168 horsepower, its higher trims top out at 320 horsepower and only when they're outfitted with all-wheel drive.
Range
Both the 2024 Kia EV6 and the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 come with either a small 58.0-kWh battery pack in their lower trims or a larger 77.4-kWh battery pack in their higher trims. But the range for the Ioniq 5 will only reach 303 miles, while the Kia EV6 can travel up to 310 miles on a single charge. This gives a slight edge to the 2024 Kia EV6 in this department, making the Kia the overall better model.
