Do you desire a subcompact car that stands out from the crowd? The 2020 Kia Soul is a wonderful choice, with its unique styling, pleasing driving dynamics, cutting-edge technologies, and a comfortable and well-equipped interior. The Soul received a pleasing redesign for the 2020 model-year. Here at Kia Marin, we highlight the differences between the 2020 Soul and 2019 Soul.
The 2020 Soul retains the boxy shape of the 2019 Soul, but it differentiates from its predecessor with many design upgrades. This includes a larger front grille, a new headlight configuration, front fender detail lines, roof rack mounting points, wraparound taillights with a boomerang shape, and slim daytime running lights. Also, the C-pillars have a design that’s meant to look like airplane wings, as well as a new “Soul” graphic. Additionally, the 2020 Soul offers two new trims: GT-Line and X-Line.

The biggest highlight for the interior of the 2020 Kia Soul is the newly-available sound mood lighting. It has many selectable moods, such as “Party Time,” “Romance,” and “Midnight City,” with soft lights in a 3D pattern that can be synchronized to the beat of the music from the audio system. The 2020 Soul also offers newly-available wireless charging, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, and the Head-Up Display, which conveniently projects driving information onto the windshield.
In addition to the 6-speed manual transmission and 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, the 2020 Kia Soul offers the newly-available Intelligent Variable Transmission, which delivers a pleasing balance of performance and efficiency. The 2020 Soul still offers the 201-hp 1.6L turbocharged I-4 GDI engine, along with the newly available 147-hp 2.0L Nu four-cylinder engine. The 130-hp 1.6L I-4 engine and 161-hp 2.0L I-4 engine from the 2019 Soul are discontinued for the 2020 model-year.
